I considered adapting the open source approach long time ago even before forming Ma1ak Studio. We believe in the open community and  we want to give something back to them. From now on, all of our games are going to be open sourced, unless specified other wise. As for licensing, we decided to license our products under the Artistic License (AL) for commercial uses, and GNU General Public License (GPL) for non commercial uses. Both of these licenses are approved by the Free Software Foundation and the Open Source Initiative. They are also compatible with GNU General Public License (GPL) and Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG).

Up until now, we were not sure how will the free version be. We considered making the free version limited or a 30-days trial, but that would limit the fun experience which is the main objective behind this game. We also considered adding ads but we did not want ads to get in the way. So what we decided to do is adding ads but disable them when you start playing. After all, there is no point in making fun games if our users are not going to fully enjoy it.

If you don’t like having any ads, then you should consider buying the full version. This way you will get an ad-free version of our games, you will be the first to get latest updates and new features, and you will be supporting us and encourage us to make more fun games.

We are extremely pleased with how well the game is doing. Specially on nook’s app store. Although that app store is provided for two devices only and in one country and supposed to target readers rather gamers, the result were over whelming.

Quantity+Quality

While the number of installs is important, what is more important to us is the quality of the app. That is why we kept the game in beta for a long time. Thankfully, the result are satisfying.

This game is an extended version of the Paper Adventures game. Instead of using your finger to tap on the monsters, There is a paper plane with a pen taped on top of it. You have to use that plane to defend your notes by shooting different enemies.
